Looking for the pawfect event for you and your pet this Paddy’s Day? Look no further than the Pawrade at The Avon.

Let’s be real, this Paddy’s Day is going to be absolutely mental. Two years of no celebrations means people are going to let loose and go a bit wild, and while that’s great to see, it can also be a frightening day for pets. Like Halloween, crowds and potential fireworks could make this a potentially stressful day for your pup, and if they’re your main priority this year, then The Avon Paddy’s Day Pawrade might be the place for you.

This family friendly event in Blessington focuses on your furry friend, providing a Paddy’s Day celebration that is fun and appropriate for your animal to attend. The event is also in support of Dogs Trust, a fantastic charity with the important message that a dog is for life.

Below is a breakdown of the day. You can look forward to face-painting, dog agility, rock-climbing, a concert, plus a range of prizes awarded during the pawrade, including Best Trick and Golden Oldie. Make sure to enter the raffle too; the prize has a value of €350 and a line of tickets is €10.

There’ll also be a few food spots open, including The Walker’s Café and the Food Court if you get a bit peckish on the day. This is an outdoor event weather permitting (although there will be an indoor back-up plan if the weather turns nasty) so make sure to dress appropriately.
