Harry Potter’s Quirky-Looking Childhood Home Is Now For Sale

Alana Laverty

Tucked away in sought-after Lavenham village in England, you’ll find Harry Potter’s childhood home – De Vere – not the Dursley’s house, Harry’s original home.

What?

You thought the Potters’ house was located in Godric’s Hollow? Nope, we’re afraid not.

But this 14th century cottage is equally as magical as if it were.

While neither Potter nor Voldemort have ever actually stepped inside the house, the interior is just as cute as one would imagine.

This Tudor-style Lavenham house was photographed as Harry’s childhoos home and the facade was then recreated for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

It has six bedrooms, four bathrooms and a beautiful back garden to boot.

The front door of De Vere House is one of its most notable features and appears in numerous British guide books and tourism websites.

Medieval and Tudor features inside include a massive timber frame, fireplaces, wall paintings and a rare stone spiral staircase with carved brick handrail.
