Get ready for an extra spooky Halloween because NASA has confirmed that a comet shaped like a skull is going to travel past Earth just after that, at the beginning of November.
The ‘dead comet’ is not expected to make another ‘notably close’ appearance until August 2027, making this an even weirder coincidence.
The not so scarily named ‘asteroid 2015 TB145’ is just under 2,000 feet in diameter and will pass earth by at just under 1.3 lunar distances, or about 302,000 miles, according to NASA.

Kelly Fast, IRTF program scientist at NASA Headquarters said, “The IRTF data may indicate that the object might be a dead comet, but in the Arecibo images it appears to have donned a skull costume for its Halloween flyby.”
