A weather warning has been issued to all of Ireland this weekend

Rory Cashin

Met Eireann have issued a special advisory which will remain in place until Monday evening.

Earlier today, we reported on the weather for the coming weekend, and even though ten counties are currently under a rain warning, it didn’t look like the weather was going to be getting any better any time soon.

That has been confirmed by a new nationwide status yellow warning issued by Met Eireann, which will be in effect from 1am on Saturday, October 31, until 3pm that same day.

The warning states that “Strong to gale force southerly winds will veer westerly. Some severe gusts are possible.”

Additionally, Met Eireann have issued a weather advisory for all of Ireland that will be valid from 9pm on Friday, October 30 right through to 6pm on Monday, November 2.

The advisory states the following:

“Very unsettled weather will occur over the Halloween weekend as a series of vigorous Atlantic weather systems pass close to Ireland. Spells of heavy rain will lead to surface and river flooding.

“Very windy/stormy at times with some severe and damaging gusts possible. Some coastal flooding possible also due to the combination of low pressure, high tides and onshore winds. Very high seas.”

In short, stay inside this weekend.
