These Pictures Prove That Flying Was Actually way More Fun 40 Years Ago Than Today

For 95% of people who can’t afford high end first class tickets flying today is an evil necessary that gets you from A to B. We are all crammed into tiny seats beside overbearing passengers and served horrendous food with most airlines even having the cheek to cut back on the free booze on offer.

Things weren’t always like this though. Back in the 60s, 70s and 80s flying was a much bigger luxury before the emergence of cheap flights. You dressed up for a trip and judging my these pictures (albeit kitsch design) you wouldn’t want a flight to end. More like a nightclub than a blame. Silly safety regulations and profit margins put and end to this.
