Beloved Clare restaurant forced to close due to Covid-19

The beloved Clare restaurant, The Little Fox in Ennistymon, has broken the news that they will not be reopening in the future.

A popular spot with locals and tourists alike, The Little Fox in Ennistymon, Co. Clare has grown a loyal following over the years. Run by chef Niamh Fox the place has a reputation for serving delicious locally grown food reflective of the season and availability of produce.

However, having closed their doors back in early March due to coronavirus fears, the beloved Clare restaurant has been faced with increasing financial strain – ultimately causing them to make the difficult decision to stay closed.

Making the sad announcement on Instagram, owners Niamh and Sam wrote:

“It’s with a very heavy heart that we have to let you know that Little Fox will not be reopening our doors after lockdown. Like many small businesses, the coronavirus pandemic has hit us hard financially and we don’t feel it’s something we can recover from. However, if you like our food and events hopefully you will keep following our little adventures.

Thank you all so much for your continued support and we look forward to seeing your friendly faces soon.”

The duo finished by thanking “the amazing team within Little Fox” for their hard work over the years, without whom they claim they would never have gotten this far.

Customers have rallied around the pair since hearing the news, sending them well wishes as they embark on a new chapter – but with many describing them as “an inspiration” and “one of the best places to eat in the west” it’s safe to say that they’ll be sorely missed.
