Wexford County Council has confirmed that work on a new 24km greenway will begin this month.
The trail will link up with the existing Waterford Greenway, creating a 72km stretch from New Ross to Dungarvan. It will also go through South Kilkenny, with the greenway being built along a former railway line between Mountelliott and Waterford.

The route will feature both walking and cycling facilities and is scheduled to open the autumn of 2021. Since opening in 2017, the Waterford Greenway has become hugely popular with walkers and cyclists alike, with various pop-up shops appearing along the route over the summer months.
