Grown clothing encouraging people to ‘gift a tree’ once again this year

Irish retailers have made a conscious effort to turn ‘Black Friday’ into ‘Green Friday’ in recent years – an initiative all the more important this year given the focus on supporting local traders.

Following on from the success of last year’s Green Friday sale, Irish sustainable clothing brand Grown will be removing all stock from their website and only selling trees for the second year running.

Taking things one step further in the fight against climate change, owners have invested in land at Grown Forest in Co. Wicklow.

Endeavouring to help restore Ireland’s native forests, they’re encouraging people to think outside the box and gift a tree this Christmas instead. A tree that as it grows, will supply enough oxygen for four people per day.

Pretty cool if you ask me.

Each sale includes a beautifully commissioned mailer and certificate designed by Sally Caulwell, – complete with the location and cert number of your tree. You’ll also receive updates and imagery on the progress of your tree and the forest too.

And just in case you needed one more reason to gift a tree, 10% of all tree profits will be donated to Dublin Zoo this year. Convinced? Thought so.
