It’s been a good year for The Blue Haven Hotel in Kinsale.
Not only was it named ‘Best Boutique Hotel’ at the Irish Hospitality Awards 2017, it’s now become the first ‘Dyson Hotel’ in Ireland, and the third globally.
Delighted for them… but what is a Dyson hotel?
It’s exactly what it says on the tin. The hotel will be kitted out from floor to ceiling in Dyson tech, from hand-dryers to vacuum cleaners, lighting, heaters and, yes, hairdryers.
The Blue Haven joins The Rosewood Hotel in London and Pier One in Sydney on the list of Dyson Hotels worldwide, with more planned for the near future according to The Irish Times.
Director of the Blue Haven, Ciarán Fitzgerald, told the publication about how the deal was done, explaining that the hotel was already using the tech brand’s air purifiers and were delighted with them, and so made a pitch to incorporate Dyson technology throughout.
He went on: “They did a site visit, and we tweaked the agreement.” Done.
Tech is King at the Blue Haven, and they also have a deal with CompuB to kit out each room with an Apple TV, and guests receive an iPad on arrival.
A tech-lover’s dream.
