Above the Fold is a brand-spanking new creative conference coming to theĀ The Mick Lally TheatreĀ in Druid Lane, Galway on May 21Ā 2016.Ā The event will be aĀ hub of creativity – beginning withĀ a dayĀ of inspiring talks and ending with some deadly social events in the evening.
Above the Fold by Day presents eightĀ exciting artists, designers and creative entrepreneurs for a oneĀ day, and one day only, in a symposium of inspirational talks under one roof.Ā
Ticket-holders will alsoĀ be givenĀ the opportunity to network and socialise at theĀ delegates’ after party in the Glasshouse atĀ Electric Garden & TheatreĀ that evening.Ā
Confirmed speakers for the event are:
- Brian Kenny – AĀ video artist and projection mapping specialist focusing on the transformationĀ of environments through the manipulation of lighting and video technology.Ā Brianās list of clients has included indie rockers Franz Ferdinand and Primal Scream, and heĀ has curated commissions for OFFSET in collaboration with stylist Aisling Farinella and AbsoluteĀ Vodka.Ā
- Aoibheann McNamara –Ā Creative entrepreneur Aoibheann McNamara is joining Above the Fold locally for a quick breakĀ from her bustling restaurantĀ Ard Bia. Aoibheann travels regularly gathering inspiration for her cafĆ©Ā and the House – where she hosts talks and events. Aoibheann also co-runs The Tweed Project,Ā aĀ slow fashion label,Ā in collaboration with her partner Triona Lillis.
- Daniel Ulrichs –Ā Daniel Ulrichs is the brains behind Coffeewerk + Press. Daniel created the space to showcase theĀ overlap between Irish and international design and art, while exploring the world of specialityĀ coffee. The small business is housed in a beautiful four hundred year old building on the WestĀ coast of Ireland – seeking to create a dialogue between coffee, design and the local GalwayĀ community.Ā

- Joe Caslin –Ā Illustrator, street artist and teacherĀ
