The Liverpool squad will hang a Dunboyne GAA jersey in their dressing room ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match against Stoke City, the Irish Independent reports.Â
The move is in honour of Sean Cox, a long-time member of the Meath club, who was critically injured in an attack outside Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium before the Champions League semi-final against Roma on Tuesday.Â

Today, two Italian men have been charged over the violent attack and the family of Mr. Cox has released a statement which said they want:
‘The world to know that Sean is the most amazing and wonderful husband, dad, friend, son, uncle, and brother.”
‘He has brought us all nothing but joy. He is a truly decent man who adores Liverpool FC and just came over from his home in County Meath, Ireland, to watch his beloved team.
‘We are completely devastated by what has happened to our lovely, caring, Sean and all we want is for him to come home to his loving wife and three children.
‘We hope Sean makes a full recovery from the injuries he sustained and that we will all be back together soon as a family in Ireland spending precious time together.’
Yesterday, Liverpool players Jordan Henderson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain took to social media to offer the Cox family their support.Â
