New figures released by the Road Safety Authority have revealed that men have racked up twice as many penalty points on Irish roads than women in the past decade.Â
From 2007 to 2016, male drivers received 1.59 million penalty points compared to just 740,000 for female drivers.Â

Most of the penalty points were delivered to those in the 30-40 age group who racked up 637,034 while those under 20 only received 86,975.Â
Says a lot about stereotyping female drivers as well as young road users doesn’t it?
