Eight people have now been confirmed dead with 12 injured in what authorities are now calling a terrorist attack in Lower Manhattan.
The attack involved a large truck mounting the pavement and hitting cyclists and pedestrians. The suspect can be seen holding two guns with US media reporting one being a bb gun found at the scene.

Five of those killed were Argentinians who had been visiting New York as past of a 30-year school reunion.
