If you’re touchy on the topic of death we’d advise you to look away now.
But for all you morbid souls out there…
A new study now claims that you actually know you’re dead after you die – because some brain function remains, enough to allow you to know what’s happening around you – even after your heart has stopped beating and the rest of your body has failed, that’s according to LiveScience.
The report claims that many cardiac arrest survivors are absolutely aware of everything happening around them even while clinically ‘dead’ – hearing people talk around them as well as witnessing doctors making last ditch attempts to save them.
They reported the happenings when they woke up and the phenomenon has flummoxed medical professionals.
The topic’s been hot in the media lately with the recent release of the remake of the movie Flatliners, which sees five medical students embark on a daring experiment to gain insight into the mystery of what happens after we die.
Unlike in the movie however, experts claim that if a person is resuscitated they will not return with spectacular memory enhancement.
We think we’d rather stay blissfully ignorant, thanks.
