An Etihad flight from Dublin to Abu Dhabi had to make an emergency landing in a military air base in Dubai after it was discovered there was “a security threat onboard”.

The flight departed Dublin airport at 8.30am yesterday morning.

There were no abnormalities found on the plane during the inflight procedures, and all passengers went through extensive security checks in Dubai.

All those flying were booked into accommodation overnight and most were rebooked onto flights leaving this morning.
