A young Irish girl is in hospital following a water accident in Malta.
The girl (6), is in a serious condition in hospital after she got into difficulty while swimming.
According to RTÉ, the incident is believed to have happened in a swimming pool on the island of Gozo.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is aware of the incident, and are understood to be standing by to provide consular assistance.Â
