A young Irish girl is in hospital following a water accident in Malta.
The girl (6), is in a serious condition in hospital after she got into difficulty while swimming.
According to RTÉ, the incident is believed to have happened in a swimming pool on the island of Gozo.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is aware of the incident, and are understood to be standing by to provide consular assistance.
Exact details are not yet known.
