Bus Éireann take on Ted the bear as a staff member while they look for his owner

Katy Thornton

There’s a new Bus Éireann employee in town, and he’s incredibly cute.

It can be difficult to get good help these days, but not for Bus Éireann. They’re used to finding all sorts of things left behind on their buses, including someone’s false teeth at one point. They never expected that they’d get an employee out of a lost good. But then along came Ted.

According to RTÉ News, Ted was found alone after a typical journey, and while Bus Éireann search for his owner, they’re putting him to work. He’s a model employee, even wearing a mask on public transport. No one has claimed Ted as of yet, but he’s getting good experience at the Bus Éireann depot in Broadstone. Ted has proved to have a natural ability for driving; he’s been doing route training and driving lessons, as well as helping out with the mechanics at the garage.

The Bus Éireann staff are grateful to have him this time of year as it’s always busier at Christmas time. However, as much of a help as he is, Bus Éireann encourages anyone who recognises Ted to contact them, as they’re sure Ted has a family who are missing him right now. In the meantime however, Ted is working away and bringing a lot of joy to all the Bus Éireann staff.

We wish him all the best and hope his family gets in touch soon!
