Bye Bye Humans – Soon You Won’t Need To Deal With People When Getting A New Passport

Applying for a new passport can be quite the struggle… Not only do you have to make sure you’ve gotten the right photos, stamps and signatures but you then have to queue for HOURS surrounded by other equally stressed-out humans.

So, it should come as a pleasant surprise to discover that Irish citizens will be able to renew their passports online from anywhere in the world very soon. (!!!!)

According to The Irish Times, The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed plans for an online applications service. The service could be operational as early as the start of next year, with the roll-out of a full service available for all applicant types by early 2019.

Now, how’s that for some fantastic news?

We’re slowly but surely catching up with the rest of the world… Who knows, maybe we’ll get an expat postal vote next!
