As always, pack wellies, suncream, a poncho and a sunhat – we can never really know what to expect.

With Electric Picnic just a matter of days away, those attending can start packing their bags as the weather forecast has become a lot clearer.

Usually with festivals, when it rains it pours. However, it looks like crowds might get pretty lucky this year, with just a small bit of rain forecast for the weekend.

Met Éireann released their national forecast today and, despite widespread showers on Friday and a small chance of light showers on Saturday, the rest of the weekend looks to be clear, with Sunday even looking to be surprisingly sunny.

So absolutely bring your wellies, umbrella, rain jacket, poncho, spare poncho and a whole load of extra socks, but maybe keep some space in the backpack free for shorts, shades and your suncream (bring that anyway, obviously!)

Here’s what Met Eireann have to say about the weekend’s weather.
