REVEALED: The Shop That Sold The Winning €500,000 Euromillions Ticket This Week

While nobody scooped the whopping €36.5m jackpot in last night’s Euromillions draw, there was one big winner in South Kerry.

The winning ticket for the EuroMillions Plus jackpot of €500,000 was sold in Jack Fitzpatrick’s Spar Express in Cahersiveen, South Kerry, it’s been revealed today.

It’s third time lucky for the shop’s owners Tracy and Jack Fitzpatrick, who sold a Lotto ticket that shared a €6.7m jackpot win in 2011 and a €2.4m win in a shop they previously owned in 2003.

Tracy said: “We can’t believe it!

“There is huge excitement and buzz in the store today everybody is in great form.

“We are a very busy shop with a lot of passing traffic and we had a bumper summer with tourists so it could be a local or a visitor.

“But we are keeping our fingers crossed it is a local.”

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “We are absolutely delighted for Co Kerry landing this big win and we hope it makes up for the disappointment at not being in Croke Park for tomorrow’s big football game.

“We are urging all our players in Kerry, or anybody who was visiting Cahersiveen, to check their tickets.

“And if somebody realises they are the lucky ticket holder we are asking them to sign the back of the ticket and keep it safe until they contact the National Lottery Office on Monday.

Certainly Ireland is experiencing the rub of the green when it comes to EuroMillions this year with our 22 winner of a EuroMillions Plus prize.”

The numbers for the main jackpot draw were 4, 30, 31, 38 and 42 and the Lucky Stars were 4 and 6.
