It looks like Facebook could be rolling out a much-needed feature for the Messenger app very soon.

It’s already been hugely popular with the likes of Twitter, with most people using it any time they open the app, and now Facebook has stared testing out a version of ‘night mode’ in selected countries.

Webb app developer Jane Wong shared a number of screenshots from the test version of Facebook’s new Dark Mode - which would be a lifesaver for your eyes when looking at your screen at night.

Jane explains, ‘Facebook Messenger, seemingly due to prolonged external nagging, has started public testing Dark Mode in certain countries.

‘They have put up a fair warning that Dark Mode isn't everywhere yet so don't complain when some UI burns your eyes off.’

Facebook also confirmed the news in a recent tweet, writing, ‘We are planning to introduce Dark Mode after we’ve finished rolling out the new Messenger to everyone globally.’
