A Survey Has Revealed Which Irish County Has The Worst Drivers

Alana Laverty

AA Motor Insurance surveyed over 7,000 motorists and have revealed that drivers in the capital are the worst behaved in the country.

Not all the surprising, eh?

AA asked drivers which county they thought had the worst drivers based on their own experiences and almost half (!!!) named and shamed Dublin.

Drivers in Donegal were crowned second worst, with over 19.25% of those surveyed casting shade on Donegal drivers.

And Cork was ranked in third place with 5.34%.

Fair play.

“While this was perhaps a less serious question than others we regularly ask motorists, it is an opportunity to highlight the increasingly common issue on Irish roads of rudeness and poor driver behaviour.

Every day we come across cases of dangerous overtaking, drivers failing to acknowledge the right of way and motorists ignoring many rules of the road.

Because we do it so often we tend to under-appreciate how dangerous driving truly is and these kinds of behaviour not only put the offending motorist at greater risk of being involved in an incident, but can also increase the risk to other drivers and vulnerable road users such as cyclists and pedestrians.”

Conor Faughnan, Director of Consumer Affairs, AA

Drivers in Sligo and Leitrim were viewed as the best behaved of all.

Angels.
