Train To Galway Delayed Because Of Alleged Incident With Dog On Tracks

Darragh Berry

A train bound for Galway was delayed for a couple of minutes because of an alleged incident with a dog on the tracks.

A passenger on the train, which was coming from Limerick, told Lovin Media Group that: “apparently there was a dog on the track…the train stopped for it and beeped and he kept running up the track, someone had to get off and pick him up.

“It happened between Gort and Ardrahan.

“We heard him beeping for ages, we were looking and someone spotted someone getting out. The driver took off slowly then and for like 5/6 mins we were going really slowly, apparently ’cause the dog just kept going straight.

“We thought maybe a cow was on the track, how the driver even saw the dog because apparently he was a small one they said.”

The train has since arrived safely at Galway station and the dog was escorted off the tracks unharmed.
