Gardai Have Issued A Warning For Anyone Driving Today

If you’re driving between midday and 3pm today, take extra care. 

Met Eireann is forecasting hailstones, so the Gardai have shared some tips from the Road Safety Authority for anyone who finds themselves caught in a downpour:

1. Reduce your speed without breaking 
2. Warn other drivers with your hazard warning lights
3. Avoid sudden steering movements or breaking suddenly

“Hailstones are a year-round occurrence in Ireland and can create very dangerous driving conditions due to their unpredictable and localised nature,” said a Garda spokesperson.
