Naya Rivera's former costars have paid tribute to the actress following news that her body has been recovered from a lake in California.
The body of 33-year-old actress Naya Rivera has been found in a lake in California several days after she went missing. Rivera was first reported missing on July 8th hours after she rented a boat with her four-year-old son. However, tragedy struck when the singer got into difficulty swimming and it's believed that she pushed her son up onto the deck of the boat but did not have enough strength to pull herself up.
Friends and family members have been paying tribute to the actress since learning of her passing, including the likes of Lea Michele, Kevin McHale and Harry Shum Jr who starred alongside Rivera on the hit TV show Glee.
Lea Michele shared a number of photos to her Instagram account, honouring both Rivera and Cory Monteith, whose anniversary falls around this time. Chris Colfer - who played Kurt Hummel on the series - also posted a photo of himself with Naya, writing:
"How can you convey all your love and respect for someone in one post? How can you summarize a decade of friendship and laughter with words alone? If you were friends with Naya Rivera, you simply can’t. Her brilliance and humor were unmatched. Her beauty and talent were otherworldly. She spoke truth to power with poise and fearlessness. She could turn a bad day into a great day with a single remark. She inspired and uplifted people without even trying. Being close to her was both a badge of honor and a suit of armor. Naya was truly one of a kind, and she always will be."
