Here’s How You Can Tell If Someone’s Screenshot Your Instagram Story

Say goodbye to the days of quietly stalking your ex-partner’s new bae’s cousin (look, we all know how deep the rabbit hole can go) as people have figured out it’s now possible to tell when someone has taken a screenshot of your Instagram story.

No more fire group chats made of screenshots. No more “privately” sending your mate a grab from someone’s story. While Instagram has been saying it planned to do this for months, it’s finally happened. The app is testing the new system and several people have reported on it.

How will we creep now?

Instagram said to TechCrunch that “we are always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you.”

But apparently if you screenshot in airplane mode they won’t get the notification. GENIUS.

Here’s hoping this test doesn’t reach our phones…
