Well, a report has suggested that Instagram is the worst social media site when it comes to having a negative impact on the mental health of young people.

The #StatusofMind survey found the app negatively impacted on people’s body image, sleep and fear of missing out.

The survey asked 1,479 young people ages 14-24 to score different social media platforms on the impact they had on them.

Instagram did however, score highly in terms of self-identity and self-expression, The Irish Independent reports.

The most ‘positive’ site was YouTube, followed by Twitter, and then Facebook and Snapchat.

“The platforms that are supposed to help young people connect with each other may actually be fuelling a mental health crisis,” said the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) report.
