If your first day back to work after Christmas is sending you over the edge, then perhaps a spot of good news is in order?
Christmas is officially over. Lidl is overrun with free weights in the middle aisle, and you’re desperately counting down the days until you’re paid again. Summer is a long way away, and you just need a little something to keep you going.
Well, this bit of news, which I had completely forgotten about, may just cheer you up. Ireland will enjoy its new bank holiday next month in honour of St. Brigid’s Day.
According to Citizen’s Information:
“The public holiday will be the first Monday in February, except where St Brigid’s day (1 February) happens to fall on a Friday, in which case that Friday 1 February will be a public holiday.”
As such, the bank holiday will land on Monday 6th February this year.
People will remember that extra long bank holiday we got in 2022 over Paddy’s Day; however, that was just a once off to commemorate and remember those who lost their lives due to coronavirus.
