Irish Men Do More Housework Everyday Than The European Average

AmyBell

A new survey has revealed that more Irish men do daily housework than the European average.

The study by EuroFound has revealed that it is women who do more housework with a staggering 79% of Irish women cooking and cleaning every single day.

Although the male figure seems quite low at nearly half of Irish men, it does put Irish lads higher than the European average.

Ruth Deasy of the EU commission has said that Irish men and women are starting to share chores in the household more than most of their European neighbours, The Irish Examiner reported.

She said, “The gap is smaller than the EU average – the biggest difference between women and men was found in Greece and Italy and the smallest gaps so the most equal sharing was in Sweden and Latvia.”
