PICS: Van Crashes Into Irish Woman’s Kitchen Window In Freak Incident

Darragh Berry

The BBC is reporting that an Irish woman was very lucky to escape death on Sunday night after a white van crashed through the back window of her house in Down.

The 73-year-old woman received medical treatment for shock and minor cuts to her head and arm after the Citroen Berlingo went straight through her kitchen window.

Speaking to the BBC, the woman said: “There was a loud bang, with the window breaking, and I was knocked out of my chair onto the floor.

“When I looked up, I could see the front of the van on my work bench.

She was watching television at the time and the cuts were caused by pieces of flying glass.

“The water was running all over the floor. The person must have left the scene.

“I was concerned about whoever was in the van and whether they were badly hurt.

“I’m just glad I am here to tell the tale.
