Evil witchcraft or positive progress?

You decide!

Either way, Leitrim is soon to lose its biggest claim to fame – as the only county on the island without traffic lights – as council engineers get ready to install a set in Leitrim village.

According to Shannonside FM, they’ll be installed on the junction between Church View and the Main Street later this week.

Leitrim

There was previously a set in the county, installed to much fanfare in 2003 – however these were later removed.

Will the new set meet a similar fate?

Only time will tell.

In the meantime, Leitrim may have to look for another claim to fame – shortest coastline in Ireland, anyone?
