This Is The Exact Horrifying Moment To Tell Kids The Truth About Santa

Darragh Berry

It’s the talk that absolutely no parent, aunty, uncle, brother or sister wants to have but eventually, it needs to happen.

A Psychologist and parenting expert, Dr Justin Coulson, has told the Daily Mail Australia the perfect moment to tell your children about Santa.

Speaking on the subject, Coulson said that: “In my experience, kids get curious between the ages of five and seven.

“It’s a constant topic of conversation and like anything that’s supposed to be a secret: Knowledge is power.”

“The right time to tell your child is as soon as they ask.

“If they’re old enough and curious enough to question, then they’re old enough to know the truth.”

Telling a child who’s only five to seven years old seems awfully harsh though in our opinion.

The same is said when talking about The Easter Bunny and The Tooth Fairy.

It was found that most kids hear the ‘truth’ about these characters by the time they are seven-years-old if not before.

“Most psychologists suggest that children need to know they can trust their parents to tell them the truth, even about things like this.

“In other words, when your kids ask if Santa, the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny are real, you should tell them the truth.”

There you have it then.
