One man has died over the Bank Holiday weekend.
A man in his 30s was found with stab wounds following an incident at a house at Meadowvale, Arklow, County Wicklow.
At 00.30am on Monday 6th May Gardaí attended the scene of an incident in a house at The Crescent, Meadowvale, where the deceased was treated for his injuries at the scene by emergency services.
He was then removed to St. Vincent’s University Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Investigating Gardaí have since arrested a man in his 40s in connection with the incident.
He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Arklow Garda Station.
