A weather warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for both Leinster and Munster by Met Éireann.
The forecaster warned people that a status yellow alert will be in place for Leinster and Munster kicking off from midnight tonight until 9pm on Wednesday:
“Heavy rain expected to move up from the south overnight, clearing later Wednesday.
30 to 40mm are expected, but larger totals are possible on high ground.”
Accuweather has confirmed this, with an extraordinarily bleak outlook of the week ahead.
As well as this, temperatures are set to plummet across the country this week as a ”polar low” is forecast.
Following an extremely mild start to the week, the Irish population should prepare themselves for snow and ice which are both supposedly on the way.
