M&S Released An ‘LGBT Sandwich’ And The Internet Can’t Handle It

Brian Dillon

“M&S threw the first artisanal sandwich at Stonewall”.

Pride season is upon us and everyone is starting to get super buzzed. It’s a fabulous time of year and amazing to see the growing support of the LGBTQ+ community in recent years. But one high-end supermarket seems particularly buzzed…

Apparently, a great way to celebrate LGBTQ+ pride is through fancy packaged artisanal sandwiches. Makes sense, right?

Well, Marks & Spencers thinks so.

It turns out the taste of pride is Lettuce, Guac, Bacon and Tomato, making the acronym LGBT.

While the Twitter reaction to the sandwich is providing us with great laughs, M&S assured customers that they are committed to supporting the LGBTQ+ community in Ireland and the UK.

They wrote in a tweet, “This has been developed to celebrate and show our support for pride. As part of this we are donating £10,000 to act (a youth homelessness charity in the UK for the LGBTQ+ community) and also €1000 to BeLong To Youth Services (who support LGBTI+ youth community in Ireland).

“We’re proud to be supporting these worthy causes, which have been chosen by our LGBTQ+ colleagues. You can see some more information about this on the side of the sandwich packaging.”

Who knew fancy M&S sandwiches were such a good way to promote acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community?

We have to give it to them, it’s certainly a creative way of getting the message across.

It looks like it tastes pretty good as well.
