Body of Newborn Baby Found On Dublin Beach

GardaĆ­ have appealed for information after the body of a newborn baby was found on a Dublin beach in the early hours of this morning.

An investigation is underway following the discovery at around 10am on Balbriggan beach.

The scene is sealed off and GardaĆ­ have asked anyone who may know anything about the incident to come forward.

They expressed concern for the wellbeing of the infant’s mother and have appealed for her to come forward.

They said: “GardaĆ­ are investigating the discovery of the body of what appears to be a newborn baby (sex unknown at this point) on a beach at Balbriggan Co. Dublin.
“The discovery was made shortly before 10am on Saturday 15th December 2018. The scene is currently sealed off and a technical examination of the area has begun.

“GardaĆ­ have concerns about the wellbeing of the child’s mother and are asking her to come forward. GardaĆ­ are also appealing to anyone else with information to contact Balbriggan Garda Station on 01 8020510.”
