As if losing Dobbo wasn't enough?

RTÉ news reader Aengus Mac Grianna has said that he will be leaving the newsroom after 30 years. He told The Sunday Independent that it was "time for a change."

The presenter is most famously known for the hilarious video of him touching up his make-up while blissfully unaware that he was live on air. The clip got over half-a-million views and even featured on the US show Jimmy Kimmel show.

There are no plans set in stone for Mac Grianna, but it seems he may return to university after finishing up in RTÉ: “My ultimate dream is to keep learning and to explore and discover new things. I am open to the idea of going back to university and I will keep all my options open — from architecture to archaeology.”

He will continue to deliver the news on RTE until early next year.
