A stunning supermoon will make an appearance over Ireland tonight, which is great news for anyone who didn’t manage to catch a glimpse of February’s one.
You might have noticed the moon looking particularly large and striking in the sky last night but it won’t actually be at its peak until later tonight.
This one is called a ‘super worm equinox moon’ because it falls on the same day as the March equinox and will be just 223,309 miles away from Earth, making for a particularly large and bright moon.
If you want to see it at its peak, the best time for that will be at roughly 1.43am tonight.
We’ve already had our fair share of supermoons so far this year, including the ‘super blue blood moon’, ‘super blood wolf moon’ and ‘super snow moon’.
But this will be the first ‘super worm equinox moon’ in 19 years, and the next won’t be seen in the skies until 2030.
It’s also the last one of 2019 so you won’t want to miss it.
