Good news makes the world go ’round folks, and something absolutely lovely happened this weekend.
Mohamed, a young boy from Aleppo in Syria, recently started playing hurling for Antrim team Davitts GAA on the under ten’s.
And yesterday Mohamed had a deadly reason to have a huge grin on his face – he scored his first ever hurling goal!
Have you ever seen a kid look so chuffed?
Young Mohamed scored his first goal for @Davitts1912 U10. Great to see, all the way from Aleppo in Syria. #gaafamily #smile @AontroimGAA pic.twitter.com/ZZ7p25c0Vo

Hurling mentor Michael O’Brien posted the snap to Twitter, and people’s response was almost as lovely as the photo.

So lovely to see the community welcome newcomers with open arms and see the kids settling in.
This has made our weekend.
