Weather Experts Say Ireland Could Be Engulfed By A 600 Metre Mega Tsunami

James Fenton

Weather experts fear that the potential eruption of a volcano in La Palma could spark a tsunami which could affect Ireland.

According to the Irish Mirror, the Canary Island has been experiencing tremors on the low end of the richter scale which could indicate that Cumbre Vieja is about to blow.

If an eruption does take place, experts believe that the African coast could be submerged within an hour while Ireland and Britain could be hit within three and a half hours.

The volcano’s last two eruptions took place in 1949 and 1971 and the most recent tremor hit 2.7 on the scale, sparking panic amongst local residents.
