Weather warnings issued to parts of Ireland for the next four days in a row

Rory Cashin

Separate rain and ice warnings have been issued for well into the week.

A lot of weather we’re having lately! So much weather!

We’ve already reported on today’s weather warning, which will see “Persistent and occasionally heavy rainfall may cause some localised flooding” in Mayo and Sligo, with the warning in place from 12pm today until 12pm tomorrow (Tuesday, January 12).

Then on Tuesday, there is a status yellow ice warning in place for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Derry, and Tyrone, with the Met UK stating that “Icy surfaces into Tuesday morning may cause some tricky travel conditions.”

That ice warning is in place from 3am on Tuesday morning, until 10am later that same morning.

Then on Wednesday, the Met UK have issued a status yellow rain warning, that will stretch from 3am on Wednesday morning, right through to 9am on Thursday morning.

That warning is also in place for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Derry, and Tyrone, with the Met UK stating that “Heavy rain is expected to affect Northern Ireland, bringing some transport disruption.”

Met Eireann have not issued any additional weather warnings beyond midday on Tuesday, but don’t be surprised if more arrive between now and the end of the week.
