Get your big geansaí back out of the wardrobe because this weekend is looking like a bitter one.
After the sun flirted with us for a short spell earlier this week, it now seems to be declaring itself uninterested, for the time being at least.
Met Éireann reckons that temperatures will fall to zero degrees on Friday night with ‘a sharp frost and some mist or fog patches in southern areas.’ Saturday night will see the mercury drop to as low as minus two, bringing ‘widespread sharp to severe frost away from northern areas and patchy mist or fog in light winds.’ However, the afternoon will see highs of eleven degrees so get out and enjoy it while you can.
Sunday will have similar temperatures throughout the afternoon before lows of one or two degrees at night as well as ‘patchy mist and fog.’
We’re starting to get the impression the weather doesn’t know what to be doing with itself half the time. A more detailed outlook can be found here.
