PIC: The New-Look Páirc Uí Chaoimh Looked Spectacular For Ed Sheeran’s Gig Last Night

James Fenton

After much anticipation, Ed Sheeran finally kicked off his Irish tour at the new-look Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork last night and it’s fair to say the stadium was looking well.

The GAA ground has undergone renovations in the last couple of years and now boasts state-of the-art facilities to rival anywhere in the country.

Ed’s gig last night was the first concert at the new-look stadium and as day turned to night, the sky above Cork was lit up and it made for spectacular viewing. The county colours of red and white were splashed across the crowd and Sheeran even donned a Cork jersey to further endear him to his audience.

A sight to behold. Ed plays Páirc Uí Chaoimh again tonight and tomorrow before further dates at Boucher Playing Fields in Belfast (May 9), Pearse Stadium in Galway (May 12 and 13) and the Phoenix Park in Dublin (May 16, 18 and 19).
