Chicken is a menu’s staple and comes in many forms – but if ever there was a subject to split opinion it is the place serving the very best in town.

Everybody is going to have their own opinion (and feel free to get involved in the comments) but we are confident that these 10 places will see you good. All you need to do now is work your way through the list and get licking those fingers!

If you ignore the creepy dolls hanging from the staircase and the overall haunting feel of the place and decide that you want to order from the menu we suggest you get their chicken wings to start before noshing on one of their famous burgers. The reasonably priced wings come spicy with chilli sauce, honey and crudités. Get in.

9th. Van ‘T Split

These guys dedicate themselves to one thing – chicken. Their simple, straightforward and tasty menu is what drives the crowds here. Choices are half roast or full chicken with a selection of generous sides… and there’s a good selection of beers, spirits and wines to choose from. The perfect place to come with friends for a massive feed. ‘Nuff said.

8th. Foodism By Friends

If you’re looking for food on the healthier side of life then come here to this french-inspired diner. You can avail of wings or oven roasted chicken with avocado here. All they’re ingredients are super-fresh and dishes are packed full of flavour. And if you’re feeling extra generous, try out their wines. This place won’t disappoint.

7th. Hard Rock Cafe

We’ll probably get slated for adding this massive chain to the list but we can’t deny that these guys have been doing it right for so long. If you’re looking for some belly-filling portions of chicken wings there’s no other place you should head to. Their jumbo portions will leave you very satisfied.

6th. Koh I Noor

No list would be complete without a mention of a good Indian. Koh I Noor do the most amazing chicken curries that will ever pas you lips. Get the butter chicken curry and never look back. Amazing.

5th. Rotisserie Rijsel

As the name suggests, these guys specialise in roasting meat, in this case chicken. Some say the food here is unparalleled. The food is French with a Flemish touch. Try the Poussin, a delicious juicy grilled chicken with fresh vegetables – it’s a favourite amongst regulars.

Come hungry, with friends. Order the whole chicken and wash it down with an Oreo shake. Pure food porn right there. And the best thing? It’s also a take-away so if you’re too lazy to be in the company of other humans this is ideal.

Like most of the places on this list – the menu is kept nice and simple, which makes deciding what you want easy. If you’re coming here, order the Peri-Peri Chicken, which is so succulent and literally falls off the bone. The staff are also known for being so friendly and memorable. Can’t go wrong here.

2nd. De Biertuin

This awesome beer garden located in East Amsterdam serves only 6 entrees to include their amazing chicken from the spit. What’s better than chilling with friends, a few beers and tucking into some of the finest food in the city?! This place is always crazy busy, so get down early if you can to ensure you get a good spot (near a heater).

1st. Restaurant Fraîche

Without doubt the very best place to get chicken in Amsterdam. Serving up the most incredible fried chicken and waffles you’ll ever eat, you’ll find it so hard to find something wrong making it the perfect place to go to treat yourself to a brunch… The Bloody Marys ain’t half bad either!!!
