Bad news for motorists driving from The People’s Republic…
The M8 Dublin – Cork Rd is closed southbound at J16 Rathcormac as Gardaí deal with a crash. Divert via J15 Fermoy South and rejoin the motorway at J17 Watergrasshill.

In other Cork traffic news, the works on the N25 Cork – Waterford Rd at Killeagh have now been suspended for the Christmas period.
According to AA Roadwatch, they will resume on Tuesday January 3 with a stop / go system in place, 24 hours a day until Friday January 20. The works will then be in place from 9:30am on Monday to 4pm on Friday each week from Monday January 23 until approximately the end of May 2017.
