It seems as though someone at the New York Times got slightly confused about how to spell ‘Cork’, and we can only assume they were thrown by a strong Rebel County accent.
Author Gavin Corbett posted a clip from the newspaper after he noticed that a hilarious correction was made about the location in a wedding notice.
“The vows column last Sunday, about the marriage of Sunny Jacobs and Peter Pringle, misspelled the name of the city in Ireland where Ms. Jacobs had a speaking engagement. It is Cork, not Quark.“
Quark is a type of soft cheese that for some reason we can’t comprehend, Americans are mad about.
