The Top Best Burgers in Warsaw

evanmusgrave

With the past two years witnessing an unforeseen growth in the number of burger joints in the city, we thought we’d take the time to compile our list of the best places out there competing in Warsaw’s ‘burger war’.

While Poland’s capital can experience vast changes in weather – from bitter winters to sweltering summers – there’s always a good reason to fill up, warm up, or chill out by feasting on a juicy, tasty burger. In making this list, we sought to represent eateries not only in the city centre, but in less obvious spots, for those exploring the quieter areas of this still under-appreciated city. Among these burger restaurants you’ll find a mix of old and new, with different flavours and textures on offer. Any we might have missed? The scene is rapidly developing. Do let us know!

10. Fresh Burgers

View in Google Maps

This place has a nice minimalist decor without trying to hard to be chic. Fresh Burgers has an edge over its many, many competitors due to the vast range of options on its menu. Choose from a wide selection of not only burgers but sides, sauces, fruit drinks and beers. This place is not very near the city centre however. It’s a very solid place to come if you’re in the neighbourhood or living nearby.

Ohburger provides almost unbeatable value. They specialise in doing quality burgers without too much frill and even have a nice system of letting the customer choose from a range of homemade sauces. Their seeded buns are always served nice and fresh and look quite dainty as well.

7. Prosta Historia

A relatively new American-style restaurant that doesn’t get too hung up on being American. Prosta is a rising star on the scene, gaining praise for its sumptuous, juicy patties and its willingness to try some left field creations, like the spiced-up Bollywood burger.

6. Soul Food Bus

This food truck, which had been an under-the-radar favourite of locals for some time, is slowly but surely coming to the fore as one of Warsaw’s better burgers right now. The bus doesn’t always park in the same place, so checking its Facebook page in advance is worthwhile. Locate it and you’ll be rewarded with superlative mince, adventurous sauce and topping options and, importantly, service with a smile.

5. Kitchen

This restaurant began with a sharper focus on serving primarily burgers but since the expansion of its menu, it’s still managed to continue perfecting this specific craft. As this place has shifted closer to a fine dining experience, prices have also risen, yet their burgers remain a real treat.

4. Burger Bar

In a city where minimalist bar and restaurant names are a notable trend, Burger Bar sits at the summit of this no-frills approach. Customers are enticed by their similar stance on serving food: a lot of attention paid to the fundamentals of superior meat and quality buns ahead of focusing on sides. Gourmet fast food at a very decent price.

3. Bydło i Poidło

With a name that translates as “cattle and troughs”, this restaurant seems to be quite confident in its understanding of the journey from field to plate. Though they offer interesting veggie options, this place is quite clearly aimed at meat connoisseurs in offering a range of different cuts from Poland, Argentina, Scotland and Italy as well as a waiting staff equipped with the knowledge of what wines go best with each.

2. Warburger

Warburger is quickly losing its hidden gem status as its juicy, onion-infused burgers gather hype in the city. The place itself is quite small; don’t expect to have too much elbow room. Warburger is a real burger-lovers spot, this is the kind of place you go to savour every bite as opposed to savouring conversation.

1. Barn Burger

From traditional burgers to zanier concoctions to veggie options, Barn Burger does it correctly across the board. Barn Burger serves them bigger and better than any of its competitors. This place is accordingly quite busy during dinner hours. The staff are very efficient however so queues out the door are unlikely.
