Anyone have a few bob to spare? A couple of grand would do the trick.

Sonny Molloy’s, an award-winning Irish whiskey bar in the heart of Galway, has just released the world’s most expensive whiskey platter.

Aptly named ‘The Prestige Platter’, the new addition to the menu costs €2,750. Might have to put that one on the credit card…

Claiming the title of “the most expensive Irish whiskey platter ever created in the world”, it consists of a measure of the Midleton Pearl Very Rare 30th Anniversary, Midleton 1973 30-Year-Old, Midleton 20th Anniversary and the Midleton 25-Year-Old Pure Pot Still.

All served in bespoke crystal tumblers.

The platter comes complete with a certificate of taste, signed and stamped by the pub’s whiskey ambassadors.

And the first person to order the platter will get the added pleasure of watching the bottles being opened and poured for the first time.

According to a statement on the pub’s website, Shane McMahon – General Manager of Sonny Molloy’s, said: “Irish Whiskey is enjoying unprecedented demand globally and we’re fortunate to have our shelves brimming with the finest collection”.

He later added that “The Prestige Platter is certainly an impressive line-up of whiskey, allowing you to sample the crème de la crème of whiskey”.

Conjoined with The Front Door, you’ll find the pub in the centre of the action on Cross Street.

The boom is back lads.
