Bray Sea Life invites people to ‘name a cockroach after your ex’ for Valentine’s Day

A great way of starting the healing process, in fairness.

If love isn’t in the air for you this Valentine’s Day and you’ve been planning on staying home and making a very detailed and realistic voodoo doll of your ex, this fundraiser run by Sea Life in Bray could be right up your alley.

The seaside attraction have launched a ‘name a cockroach after your ex’ fundraiser for Valentine’s Day, ideal for those who maybe aren’t expecting a delivery of flowers and chocolate to their front door this year.

Appealing to “all the un-romantics out there” in an Instagram post, the Sea Life team wrote:

We’re inviting all of the un-romantics out there to name a cockroach after their ex this Valentine’s Day!

In exchange for a donation to the SEA LIFE Trust, you can name one of our Madagascan Hissing Cockroaches after a special (or not so special!) person… who will you choose?

The Sea Life Trust is a global charity that works to protect the world’s oceans, championing the need for plastic-free oceans and an end to over-exploitation of marine life through their global projects and campaigns.

In exchange for a donation, scorned lovers can name one of Sea Life’s apocalypse-surviving insects after someone who’s been ‘bugging’ them.

If you have an ex worthy of a six-legged hissing namesake, you can find out more and make a donation HERE.
