These Are The Best Irish Cities For Singletons According To Big7 Travel

Sarah Finnan

Singletons, if you’re looking to couple up for the cold then listen up because Big7 Travel has just released the official list of the 50 Best Cities in Europe For Singles 2019.

The list, compiled using data from Eurostat, individual country Census statistics, dating app usage and the results of a survey of singles across Europe, gives a definitive ranking of where best to celebrate your singledom.

As the travel giants say themselves; “not all cities are created equal when it comes to love”. Criteria were based on the highest usage rating of dating apps, the population percentage of single people per capita, overall city population and the quality of the dating scene as voted by a sample of the Big7 audience.

Limerick was revealed as being the top Irish city, ranking tenth on the list. It also holds the prestigious title of second most popular Tinder city in the world. Limerick is stone mad for swiping lads.

Galway ranked 42nd on the list with the highest percentage of single people in Ireland at almost 54 percent. So in theory, it should be easy to bag yourself a spooning partner. (Don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just stating the facts.)

Belfast came in at number 29 while Dublin placed 13th, just missing out on a coveted top 10 spot.  According to the list, the capital is also the 14th most popular European city for Tinder Passport users. Interesting.

Stockholm in Sweden took home the gold, with Madrid, Oslo, London and Berlin completing the top five. Time to look at flights if you’re really serious about ending your single spell.

Cuffing season is well and truly upon us.
